Picture notes Identification by Penzance Library . She stayed in St Ives on 4 April 1931 while on a five-day whistle stop motoring tour. Unfortunately she lost her diary on the trip, so the record is in the replacement diary and has ben put in later and in brief. It says they (MH and Adonia? - it is not clear) started from Liskeard that day and got to St Ives having been to Lands End and Penzance. Given it was April, that doesn't leave much time for sketching, and there is no other mention or record of sketching on the trip. However, she spent a fortnight in St Ives with Archie and family in August 1932, and records a lot of sketching and painting. So I am inclined to attribute the work to 1932, and explain the 1931 date by her having put it on some years later and made a mistake.
